How do Penguins live?
Penguins spend most of their time in the water, 75% of the time to be exact. They hunt for krill, fish, and squid underwater and when them catch their food, they swallow them whole. Some species only get out of the water to breed and molt.
All types of penguins live in "Rookeries", or large groups. They also hunt together.
How do they find each other in these groups? Each penguin has a distinctive call, or a different voice like me and you, that allows their mates and chicks to find them in these groups.

Penguins come in a wide range of sizes, the Emperor Penguin is the tallest, standing at 45 inches tall, and the Fairy Penguin is the smallest, standing at 16 and 1/2 inches tall.
WHere can you find penguins?
Penguins are found in Antarctica, South America, The Galapagos Islands, New Zealand, Australia and South Africa. They usually live around cold currents in order to find the types of fish they eat. They can live in warmer weather but if it becomes too hot they will get sick and eventually die.
